Panthers beat Clay Center twice

CLAY CENTER — Completing a sweep of Clay Center on Tuesday, the Concordia High School volleyball team remained tied with Marysville for first place in the North Central Kansas League.

Concordia, now 12-10 overall, improved to 5-1 in league play with the two wins over Clay Center.

The Panthers will host Marysville for two matches on October 2.

Concordia dropped the first set in the first match with Clay Center, 25-22.

The Panthers pulled out a 25-23 win over the Tigers in the second set.

Concordia won the third and deciding set, 25-21.

Taegen Larsen led the Panther attack with 17 kills. She also had 16 digs.

Chloe Conway had 14 kills, 10 digs, three blocks and seven service points in the win.

Terryl Loeffler had four kills and four blocks.

Maddy Meyer added three kills and three blocks.

Zoe Bechard had 22 digs.

Kendall Reynolds had 98 good sets in 98 attempts with 33 assists. She also had 13 digs and eight service points with two aces.

Concordia swept Clay Center in the second match, 25-22, 25-16.

Shaina Wright and Taylynn Peltier had seven service points each in the win.

Bechard had four service points.

The Panthers will host their invitational tournament on Saturday.
