Panthers go 1-2 in dual tournament

The Concordia Junior High School wrestling team went 1-2 in the dual tournament it hosted on Saturday.
Concordia finished in a 48-48 tie with a Salina Central.
The Panthers were declared the winner based on a tiebreaker of which team recorded the most pins.
Concordia was beaten 66-38 by Marysville and 72-33 by Clay Center.
Clay Center went 3-0 to win the tournament.
In the win over Salina South, Concordia's Christian Belden pinned Kyle Rector in the 75-pound class.
Connor Novak, 80 pounds, lost by fall to Seth Flures.
Wade Kindel, 84 pounds, pinned Easton Kimmi.
Koby Tyler, 90 pound, pinned Isaac Martinez.
Cody Trost, 95; Easton Swihart, 100; Ashton Dooley, 105; and Bergun Kindel, 110, won by forfeit.
Daniel Vines, 120, pinned Trenton Wellbrock.
Dustin Sterrett, 127, lost by fall to Luke Simpson.
Gunnar Hall, 265, lost by fall to Jorge Franco.
In the loss to Marysville, Belden won by forfeit.
Novak pinned Calvin Gibson. Wade Kindel beat Jacob Dankenbring 96; and Tyler beat Braden Hadley, 17-0.
Trost lost by fall to Ian Detirmore.
Swihart lost by fall to Tristen Schaefer.
Dooley lost by fall to Gabe Fredrickson;
Bergun Kindel pinned Keaton Grave.
Vines won by forfeit.
Sterrett lost by fall to Keith Johnson and Hale pinned Nate Dettle.
In the loss to Clay Center, Belden pinned Connor Roff.
Novak lost by fall to Jimmy Gordon.
Wade Kindel pinned Jackson Henry. Tyler pinned Morgan Brumfield. Tyler pinned Jace Brownell.
Swiart was pinned by Brady Hayes. Dooley was pinned by Carter Long. Bergun Kindel was pinned by Carter Trimble.
