Panthers pick up pair of league dual victories

Rolling past Marysville and edging Abilene, the Concordia High School wrestling team posted a pair of North Central Kansas League dual wins Thursday in the Concordia Junior-Senior High School gymnasium.
Concordia defeated Marysville 55-20 and then held off Abilene, 40-39.
The Panthers are now 3-0 in league duals.
Concordia won the first three matches by pin to get out to an 18-0 lead on Marysville.
Logan Leiszler pinned Jacob Dankenbring in the 106-pound class.
Sajen Kemling, 113 pounds, pinned Gabe Fredrickson.
Koby Tyler, 120 pounds, pinned Carter Trimble.
Torxsten Kindel suffered a 7-5 loss to Abilene's Tristan Schaefer in the 126-pound class.
The Panthers then picked up three consecutive wins.
Daniel Vines, 132 pounds, won an 8-3 decision over Kai Barton.
Toby Wahlmeier pinned Ian Detimore in the 138-pound class.
Easton Swihart, 145 pounds, pinned Gibbs Haiden.
Caleb Hanson lost a 21-5 major decision to Abilene's Ayden Price in the 152-pound class.
Nathan Brown, 160 pounds, pinned Jacob Haefele.
Keyan Miller pinned Keith Johnson in the 170-pound class.
Chayton Alquist-Pennell, 182 pounds, lost by fall to Beau Wassenberg.
Hunter Schroeder pinned Patrick Smith in the 195-pound class.
Jace Tholstrup, 220 pounds, was pinned by Jack Lott.
Dalton Owen pinned Juandre Walton in the 285-pound class.
Concordia got up 6-0 on Abilene when Leiszler received a forfeit.
The Panthers then suffered three consecutive losses.
Kemling was pinned by Tucker Cell.
Tyler dropped a 4-2 decision to Christopher McClanahan.
Kindel lost by fall to Kaleb Stroda.
Vines picked up a win for the Panthers by defeating Cooper Wuthnow, 8-6.
Wahlmeier lost by fall to Miller Unruh.
Swihart was pinned by Trenton Wuthnow.
Hanson lost by fall to Tristan Randles.
Concordia then won the next four matches to secure the dual victory.
Brown pinned Aiden Henley and Miller pinned Logan Buechman.
Schroeder, at 182 pounds, received a forfeit.
Zane Reed, wrestling at 195 pounds, pinned Gavin Hight.
Tholstrup received a forfeit.
Owen was pinned by Brandon Parker.
Concordia recorded three wins in junior varsity matches against Marysville.
Mason Eichmann pinned Michael Reeves.
Clayton Walker pinned Corbett Bogart and Gunnar Hale pinned Braden Dwerlkotte.
The Panthers are competing in the Beloit Invitational today and Saturday.
