Rundus leads CHS golfers to fourth-place finish

Led by senior Paul Rundus, the Concordia High School boys' golf team just missed placing in the top three at its own invitational tournament Monday at Concordia Golf & Wellness.
Concordia posted a four-man total of 363, and finished in a tie for fourth-place with Republic County.
Marysville won the tournament with a 347. Smith Center was second with a 355, and Clay Center was third with a 362.
"Missing out on third as a team by one stroke was frustrating, but hopefully, we can build on some of our PR's from today when we head to Clay Center on Thursday," Concordia coach Gene Rundus said.
Paul Rundus shot 39 on the front nine and 40 on the back to card a 79 and place fourth individually.
Hayden Dvorak shot 45-45 to finish with a 90 for the Panthers.
Braxton Kindel, with rounds of 46-50, shot 96.
Treyton Kindel rounded out the top four for Concordia with a 50-48 for a 98.
Concordia had Austin Krier shoot 114.
"The guys looked a little tight today," coach Rounds said. "We left a lot of chips and putts short."
Alex Fischer, Republic County, was the individual medalist with a 73.
Jackson Rader, Marysville, shot 74 to finish second.
Jason Arntt, Marysville, was third with a 78.
