Seventh grade girls lose to Clay Center
CLAY CENTER — Clay Center dealt the Concordia seventh grade girls' basketball team a 33-21 defeat on Thursday.
Concordia trailed 9-6 after one quarter of play.
Clay Center outscored the Panthers 14-2 in the second period to go up 23-8 at halftime.
Concordia scored six points in the third quarter, to eight for Clay Center, and trailed 31-14.
The Panthers tossed in seven points in the final period to two for Clay Center.
Madison Meyer led Concordia with 10 points. Carlie Carlgren added seven points.
The Concordia B-team downed Clay Center, 16-9.
The game was tied 6-6 at halftime.
Concordia scored 10 points in the second half and limited Clay Center to three points.
Keirstin Kingsbury scored five points for the Panthers. Emalee Johnson finished with four points.
