T-Birds tumble to Hesston College

The Cloud County Community College volleyball team was beaten in straight sets by Hesston College in a Jayhawk Conference East Division match Tuesday night in Bryant Gymnasium.

Cloud County falls to 10-11 overall and 1-4 in conference play with the loss.

Trialing 17-16 in the first set, Hesston outscored the Thunderbirds 9-2 to pick up a 25-19 win.

Cloud County had a 20-17 lead in the second set, but the Larks battled back to capture a 25-22 victory.

Hesston, 7-10 overall and 2-2 in the conference, won the third set, 25-20.

Sophomore Giovanna Fundaro had 12 kills and 12 digs for Cloud County.

Freshman Jessica Williams added eight kills.

Dayana Chara and Haven Hamilton, both freshmen, had six kills each.

Setters Laken Schroeder and Cammie Miller finished with 18 assists each.

The T-Birds travel to Salina Friday to play the Kansas Wesleyan University junior varsity.
