T-Birds tumble to McPherson JV

MCPHERSON — Playing in its next to last match of the season on the road, the Cloud County Community College volleyball team was beaten in five sets by the McPherson College junior varsity on Monday.
Cloud County, now 17-17, won the first set of the match, 25-11.
McPherson College picked up 25-23, 25-19 victories to take a 2-1 lead in the match.
Cloud County pulled even at 2-2 by winning the fourth set, 25-19.
The Bulldogs won the fifth and deciding set, 15-10.
Freshman Dayana Chara had 18 kills in the match for Cloud County.
Sophomore Giovanna Fundaro and freshman Haven Hamilton added 15 kills each.
Jessica Williams, a freshman from Concordia, had nine kills.
Sophomore Britt Michaelis had a team high 26 digs for the Thunderbirds.
Cammie Miller, a sophomore setter, finished with a career high 51 assists. She also had 15 digs.
Freshman Willow Hunt had had 12 digs.
The T-Birds will finish the season with a road match against the Ottawa University junior varsity.
