Two T-Birds named to All-Conference team

Wrestling coaches inside the Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference (KJCCC) made their selections for the 2019 All-Conference Wrestling Teams last week, with a pair of Cloud County Community College grapplers receiving first-team honors.
Redshirt freshman 149-pounder Austin Eldredge and fellow sophomore Benny Hernandez (285 lbs.) were each selected first-team All-Conference after helping the second-year Thunderbirds program to a third-place finish at the West-Central District Tournament and 14th-place finish at the NJCAA Wrestling Championships.
Eldredge made school history this past winter, becoming the program's first West-Central District Tournament champion. He became one of Cloud County's first two All-Americans, alongside sophomore Noah Aziere,  after finishing fourth at the national tournament back on March 2.
The McPherson native posted a 26-3 overall record this past season after missing his entire freshman season due to injury.
As for Hernandez, the heavyweight out of Garden City finished the season with a 23-9 record, the West-Central District Tournament runner-up, and as a two-time national qualifier for the T-Birds as part of their inaugural recruiting class.
