Concordia Police Chief Brent Gering announced the arrest of Matthew A. Anaya in the burglary of Taco Grande over the weekend.
According to a press release from the Concordia Police Department (CPD), around midnight on Saturday, August 1, 2025, unknown suspect(s) broke into Taco Grande. Several items were reported stolen, including Chamber Bucks, loose change, $1 Taco Tokens, and a business debit card. The estimated total loss is $680.
The CPD secured video surveillance from inside the business, as well as from surrounding establishments to assist in identifying the suspect(s) involved.
As a result of the investigation, on August 3, 2025, the CPD, in cooperation with the Cloud County Sheriff's Department, arrested Matthew A. Anaya, a 23-year-old male residing in Clyde, Kansas.
Anaya was booked into the Cloud County Jail on charges of Burglary, Criminal Damage to Property, and Theft in connection with the break-in at Taco Grande.
The CPD would like to thank the public and local businesses for their cooperation and assistance in the investigation.
All individuals are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
