Calvin William Schultz, 74, of Miltonvale, KS, passed away on March 2, 2025, in Leonardville, KS. He was born in Ellsworth County, KS, on February 3, 1951, to William (Bill) and Myrtle (Hoffman) Schultz.

Calvin attended school in Ellsworth until 7th grade, then in Miltonvale after the family moved, and graduated in 1969. Following high school, he attended Cloud County Community College and received an associate’s degree in 1971.

After college, he returned to the farm where he worked alongside his father and brother, Richard, and later his nieces, Hali and Shelby. He has been involved in many facets: milking cows, raising hogs and cattle, putting up hay, and growing wheat, corn, milo, soybeans, and sunflowers. His favorite being corn.

Tractor pulls were a pastime he enjoyed watching, attending, and occasionally competing. He was active in the community; driving in parades, serving at the Tootlefest BBQ, volunteer fireman, and tasks that required some manpower.

He dedicated 26 years to being a volunteer EMT, 5 years in which he was the director. Whenever asked to cover someone’s shift, he never hesitated. You could find him most Friday nights, during football season, manning the ambulance on the sidelines. Even in most difficult situations, Calvin was usually there and helping in any way.

Calvin was preceded in death by his parents, Bill and Myrtle (Hoffman) Schultz.

Calvin is survived by a brother, Richard Schultz and wife Dona of Miltonvale, KS; nieces, Hali Schultz of Miltonvale, KS, Shelby (Schultz) Schmidt and husband Cy of Glasco, KS; and one great-nephew, Sturgill (Harry) Schmidt.
