Returning back to Concordia for the first time since 2017, Rajindra Campbell is the first member to be inducted into the Cloud County Community College Athletics Hall of Fame Class of 2025. He was inducted during halftime of the men’s game against Cowley College on January 11.
“Cloud County Community College was a foundation, a stepping stone for me,” said Campbell. “It propelled me in achieving a lot more.”
Campbell competed in the 2024 Summer Olympics for his home county of Jamaica, where he took home the bronze medal, and was the first Jamaican Olympian to earn a medal in a throwing event. “The Olympics is the highest level of track and field. Every athlete, young and old, from your first day the goal is to be an Olympian. I was able to achieve that and be in the one percent of the one percent.”
The rest of the inductees for the 2025 Hall of Fame class will be introduced February 1 during the Fort Hays Northwest games.
“It is amazing. I came here and fell in love with the event, with the coaches and sacrifice they put in to my success. To be nominated for the Hall of Fame is special, to be inducted into it, is one of the memories I will take from this place.”
