Cloud County receives gift of $300,000 from the Meridian Way Wind Farm and EDP Renewables

Cloud County has received its annual payment of $300,000 from the Meridian Way Wind Farm and EDP Renewables.

The funds are used to support projects that improve the lives of residents in Cloud County. Businesses and organizations are encouraged to submit a request to receive a portion of the funding, which is dispersed by the Cloud County Commission.

The deadline for submitting a funding request is March 30.

Among the grant applicants so far are:

USD 333 for book carts, in the amount of $5,000.

The city of Glasco for fire truck apparatus additions (skid and fire body box), in the amount of $41,114.

The Cloud County Fair Board for replacing four outside five-ton AC/furnace units, in the amount of $38,375.

The Brown Grand Opera House, Inc. for replacing its lighting and sound system, and the theatre's vintage cyclorama, in the amount of $20,000.

The Clyde Senior Citizens Center for replacing damaged roof membrane and guttering on its building, in the amount of $5,000.

The Concordia Chamber of Commerce for a computer and printer upgrade, in the amount of $7,254.77.

The Concordia Wesleyan Church for Easter Egg Event inflatables, in the amount of $625.

The city of Clyde Beautification Committee for street sign/directional signage and missing street sign replacement, in the amount of $30,888.43.
