On March 21, at 5:13 p.m., officers conducted a traffic stop in the 1700 block of Hill Street. Upon investigation, the driver was identified as Randall Wernecke, Clifton, who had a warrant out for his arrest. Wernecke was arrested and transported to Cloud County Corrections. He was booked in on his Cloud County warrant for failure to appear, original charge: Unlawful possession of a firearm, driving while suspended, driving without insurance and driving with expired tags. He was also charged with driving while suspended. A search warrant for narcotics was conducted on the vehicle Wernecke was driving. Additional charges are pending, and the investigation continues.
On March 23, at 7:07 p.m., officers responded to the 1302 block of Spruce Street for a report of a domestic battery in progress. During the course of the investigation drugs were located which led officers to conduct a search warrant of the residence. Mark Moffett, Concordia, was arrested for domestic battery, battery, and criminal deprivation of property. Moffett was transported and booked into Cloud County Corrections. Additional charges are pending, and the investigation continues.
Assault
On March 18, at 2:48 p.m., officers responded to the 2000 section of North 145th Road for a report of an assault. Upon investigation, both parties declined to press charges. Before both parties left the scene, they were informed that they were trespassed from the property.
Domestic battery
On March 20, at 1:22 p.m., officers were dispatched to the police department for a report of a domestic battery that happened in the past. Charges have been sent to the Cloud County Attorney.
Theft
On March 23, at 4:36 p.m., officers were dispatched to the police department for a report of a threat.
Civil dispute
On March 22, at 11:05 a.m., officers responded to the 100 block of East Ninth Street for a report of civil dispute. This incident is still under investigation.
On March 22, at 4:39 p.m., officers were dispatched to the 900 block of Russ Street for a report of a civil dispute. No case was needed.
Welfare check
On March 22, at 12:36 p.m., officers responded to the 900 block of Cedar Street for a welfare check.
On March 22, at 1:23 p.m., officers responded to the 700 block of Kansas Street for a welfare check.
Property damage
On March 21, at 5:30 p.m., officers were dispatched to the 500 block of East 14th Street for a report of criminal damage to property. While officers were investigating, the victim declined to press charges.
Criminal trespass
On March 22, at 1:43 a.m., officers responded to the 1700 block of Cedar Street for a report of criminal trespass.
