For years the number of Christians in America has been on the decline. In 2007, 78% of Americans declared themselves to be Christian.  From 2007 to 2022 that number went from 78% down to a low of 60%. However, those numbers have begun to turn around in recent years, going back up to 62% in 2025.

Most of this new growth in Christianity is among Gen Z men.  Young men are going back to church and not just any church. They are going to the most boring of churches. They are going to the churches steeped in hundreds of years of ancient tradition. They are going to churches where priests have long beards and dress in ornate robes with funny hats.

Twenty-seven-year-old Ben Christensen writes, “If you are serious about being a Christian … and you want something that has some heft to it, there’s more of an awareness of Orthodoxy than there used to be.”

Ben means that he is attending an Orthodox Church.  He’s attending a church where the Bible is taken seriously and is treated as God’s holy and inspired instruction book to humanity.  He is attending a church that has some requirements to it.  He is attending a church where Jesus is real and Christians are expected to act like he would act.  Young men are looking for Christianity with some weight to it where they can sink their teeth in and not be disappointed

Are you like Ben? Are you looking for a faith not only to hold onto, but that will also hold on to you?  Here’s what God says to his people through the Prophet Jeremiah in the book of Jeremiah 29:13, “You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.  I will be found by you,” declares the LORD.”

That is God’s promise, “when you seek me you will find me.” God is real.  He really wants to have a relationship with you. Seek him. Today in prayer ask God to show you that he is real, that he has a purpose for you and that there is a road for you to take. A real God who does real things – that’s a God worth talking about.
