Juanita Bonebrake, age 79, passed away peacefully, Thursday, March 6, 2025, at home. Born September 23, 1945, in Concordia, KS, to Emery and Mary Opal (Cox) Mondy. She graduated from Concordia High School.
Juanita married the love of her life, Kale Bonebrake, in 1964, in Concordia, KS; he survives. To this union, a daughter, Kristine Wilburn and a son, Kevin Bonebrake were born.
Juanita worked in retail all her life making many friends along the way.
She was preceded in death by her father, Emery and mother Opal; 2 half-sisters, and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will take place from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Charter Funerals in Emporia on Thursday, March 13, 2025. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Emporia at 10:00 a.m., Friday, March 14, 2025. Interment will take place at St. Concordia Catholic Cemetery, Concordia, KS, approximately 3:30-4:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hand-in-Hand Hospice, Sacred Heart Catholic School, or Alzheimer’s Research.
