Mount Liberty

After doing this for at least 30 years with a Tuesday noon deadline, it is a little difficult to change gears and have it done several days before that. It's even worse when there are holidays which makes the deadline even earlier. We just struggle along and do the best that we can.

The weather forecasts can sometimes be off the mark and we hope it is this time. They are predicting some nasty weather coming our way but I guess it is January and we have had it pretty pleasant up to this point. We had to be out and about today and several highways had already been treated in advance. US24 had both lanes treated but Ottawa County is saving some money and spray for later. They just sprayed one swath down the middle of the highway. I guess if you can keep traction with one side of the car it may work out OK.

The traditional way we usually celebrate the coming of the new year is by being sound asleep. Since I don't sleep very well anymore I was actually awake when the new year came in. At near midnight I thought I might find something on the computer where the New Year was being celebrated. It then occurred to me that anything on there was an hour earlier than here. Earlier I tried to watch the 10 o'clock news on 13 but found it was some long musical show with people that thought they were singers performing. I hate to be the bearer of bad news but the little I saw sure wasn't singing.
