Hosting Solomon in the final game of the regular season, the number-five-ranked Clifton-Clyde High School football team defeated the Gorillas on senior night 66-12 and moved to 7-1 on the year entering the postseason.

Forcing a Gorilla three-and-out to open the game, the Eagle offense got rolling quickly, scoring in three plays capped by a Kyzler Damman run to go up 8-0 early. After a great kickoff put Solomon within their own 10-yard line, the Eagles forced a safety on a Damman sack to expand their lead to 10-0. Two plays into the following drive, Jacob Newton popped off a 45-yard touchdown run to expand the lead to 18-0. After shutting down Solomon and forcing a punt, Newton struck again, scoring on the first play of the Eagles' drive with another 45-yard touchdown run to make it 26-0.

A successful onside kick gave Clifton-Clyde the ball back in Gorilla territory, and in just three plays Damman found the end zone on a 20-yard run to make it 34-0. Forcing a turnover on downs in Solomon territory, the Eagles scored in two plays with a four-yard Damman run after a 25-yard pass to Trenton Benne set the Eagles up and made it 42-0 to end the first quarter.

Forcing the Gorillas to punt to start the second quarter, the Eagles got downfield quickly, with Damman hitting Emitt Tiemeyer for a 15-yard touchdown to make it 50-0. Solomon finally got their offense going on the following drive, hitting a 48-yard pass for a touchdown to prevent the shutout, get on the board, and make it 50-6.
