The POW Camp Concordia Preservation Society held its monthly meeting on March 10 at 5:30 p.m. at the Cloud County Historical Museum Annex. There were six (6) members present.
The minutes of the February meeting and the treasurer’s report were both accepted as presented. During February there were ten (10) visitors to the guard tower and no visitors to the museum in T9.
Old business:
1. The gas tank for the Seep cannot be found.
2. KDOT has charged a total of $500 for the Camp Concordia signs on US 81.
3. The CPA said that the tax return can be filed using 990N.
4. The roof of T9 was discussed. Since we cannot find a roofing company, maybe we should look for a construction company. The large trusses seem to be the main problem.
5. The air compressor will be moved and hooked up to the electrical system of T9.
6. Victory Day, May 3, was discussed in length to include schedule of events, speakers, and reenactors.
7. Tom Nelson will be the speaker at the banquet in November.
There will be a work day in April to clean out the north end of T9.
The next meeting will be on April 14 at 5:30 p.m. at the Cloud County Historical Museum Annex. All members and interested persons are welcome to attend.
