Concordia Unified School District 333 Board of Education met on Monday, July 14, 2025, at 6 p.m. for its regular business meeting.

Present were Board President Brad Berk, Vice President Mike Cleveland, John Culley, Nancy Owen, Jenny Parker, Amber Lambertz and Lindsay Metcalf.

In facilities updates, the board heard a report detailing the timelines on in-progress projects.

The paving and lighting of the parking lot on the north side of West 10th Street is proceeding on schedule.

The installation of new light poles and lights is in progress now to add ease for patrons walking across or driving across the lot at night and to increase visibility within the lot.

This project should be completed before school resumes in August.

The Concordia Elementary School’s cafeteria table replacement project is also underway.  The old tables, which had sustained significant wear and tear over their many years in place, have already been removed and the new tables will be installed this month.

The new Hall of Fame, located on the east side of the high school, just outside the library and previously termed the holding area, has also begun.

New flooring is in progress and new cabinets will be installed.

Completion is expected by July 31.

In action items, the board voted to approve the updates to KASB policies and the updates to their organizational meeting items.

The board also entered a discussion with Doug Hutchinson of TransEquity Development regarding a potential property transaction.

This discussion pertains to the property described as “Udell’s Addition, S34 T05, Block C, Lot 1 and 14, and Block D, Lot 1 and 14.”

These lots are considered a future site for development.

The board also discussed taking a KASB recommendation to begin holding an extra meeting on months with a fifth Monday in them for special session or study session meetings.

These meetings would be designated to discuss such items as strategic planning, short-term and long-term goals and facilities management/planning, just to name a few.

This board currently meets once a month on the second Monday of every month, unless otherwise noted.

These meetings are open to the public.
