Letter to the Editor 11-3-23

Dear editor,
I moved to Kansas earlier this year. I am enjoying the beauty, cleanliness, four seasons and wonderful people in Concordia.
On Halloween night I saw something that was a credit to the parents in this city.
Concordians still raise children with values.
It surprised me. I hope it inspires you.
Halloween was winding down about 8:30. We had about 100 kids. I was at a gathering across the street and could see my house. The candy was on the porch with a sign "Take 4 and leave the rest."
I could see that the kids were doing as asked.
I was headed home when a group of four were collecting the last of the candy. A young man, maybe 12 or 13, saw the bowl was empty. He dug into his bag, pulled out candy and put it in the bowl so the kids behind would have candy.
I want to spend my golden years with people like this.
Thank you,
Pam Vincent
