Dear editor,
The Avenue Of Flags Committee needs the community's help with flags at the cemetery this Memorial Day and weekend. Volunteers are needed to place small flags on veterans' graves Saturday, May 27, at 9 a.m. Meet at the west side of Pleasant Hill Cemetery.
On Memorial Day, Monday, May 29, help is needed to put up the poles and flags for the Avenue Of Flags. We will begin at 8 a.m. Meet at the north end of the Avenue. Help will also be needed Memorial Day at 4 p.m. to pick up small grave flags and at 7 p.m. to take down the Avenue poles and flags. After being picked up, they'll be folded at the Post home.
Thanks in advance to all volunteer helpers at any of these times.
Memorial Day is a special day when we remember and honor those military members who died in service to our country.
On Monday, May 29, a Memorial Day Service will be held at 11 a.m. at the American Legion Post Home and everyone is invited to attend, and you may drive by the Avenue Of Flags from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. that day.
The next Avenue Of Flags Committee meeting is Monday, May 22, 7 p.m. at the Post. Any interested person is welcome to attend.
