Adams to celebrate 50th anniversary

Harley and Darla (Lauderdale) Adams, Concordia, will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary on
Monday, August 5, 2019. The couple grew up in Eldorado, Oklahoma and started “going steady” in Junior High! After High School graduation, they were married in Rockport, Texas.
Shortly after marriage, the couple relocated to Weatherford, Oklahoma to attend Southwestern Oklahoma State University. Harley graduated from SOSU in 1972 with a Major in Mathematics and Minor in Business.
He worked at DeFehr Implement (a John Deere Dealer) while attending classes. Darla worked full time at Owl Photo while taking business classes. After graduation, Harley accepted a position with John Deere Company and they moved to Salina, Kansas. Their children, Kyle (Heather Adams), Abilene, Kan. and Keri (Mark) Hissong, Castle Rock, Colorado, were born while in Salina.
Harley loved the farm machinery business and in 1978, he was offered a partnership with Bill Lagemann and Concordia Tractor, Inc. (CTI). After moving to Concordia, Darla worked at 1st Bank & Trust and was office secretary at Concordia Junior High School from 1985-1994. She became Office Manager at CTI in January 1994. She and Harley worked side by side until retiring January 1, 2019.    A family celebration trip is planned for 2020. Several RV trips are planned, and KSU Football tailgating this fall are at the top of their “to do” list. Harley and Darla reside at 1250 Willow, Concordia, Kan.
