Board reviews applications for Emergency Preparedness job

The Cloud County board of commissioners had its regular meeting on Monday.
Following a budget hearing, the board approved the 2020 proposed budget that includes budget authority of $17,014,905 with an estimated tax rate of 69.885 mills.
Andy Asch, Highway Department administrator, met with the board and reported that the department was sealing Union Road, and dependent on the weather, should finish this week.
The board reviewed applications that had been received for the full-time Emergency Preparedness director position.
Earlier this month, the board approved the job description and to begin advertising for the Emergency Preparedness position.
The board voted in June to change the Emergency Preparedness position from part-time to full-time.
Also during the meeting the board approved the following expenses totaling $133,365.40:
General Fund, $32,894.57; Juvenile Reinvestment, $52.90; Juvenile Justice, $572.74; Appraisal, $42.95; Noxious Weed, $578.59; Solid Waste, $22,931.42; Special Alcohol & Drug, $2,475.86; Special Economic Development, $21,600; Road & Bridge, $29,153.31; Employee Benefits, $1,000; Community Corrections, $487.26; County Health, $5,430.57; Election, $170.83; Court Services, $261.36; County Tourism & Election, $15,713.04.
