CCCC has increase in enrollment for fall semester

Cloud County Community College was one of 11 two- year institutions in Kansas to have an increase in fall semester student enrollment from 2022 to 2023.
According to the preliminary census figures released by the Kansas Board of Regents earlier this week, the Cloud County Community College (CCCC) student headcount for the 2023 fall semester is 1,686. That is up 2.1 percent from the 2022 count of 1651. It is an increase of 155 students from the total in 2021 of 1,531.
“I am encouraged by the increase in students we've experienced, which is a reflection of the important work of our faculty, staff and community to show the many benefits of attending a community college,” CCCC president Amber Knoettgen said. “It's rewarding to know that students and families are seeing the value in choosing Cloud as their educational path.”
The preliminary census shows an increase in student enrollment across the state's higher education system.
The public university, community college and technical college sections all saw growth in the headcount and full-time equivalent enrollment.
Overall, the system has experienced a 2 percent increase in enrollment as of the 20th day fall census compared to last year.
“We are encouraged to see enrollment growth across our system this year,” Kansas Board of Regents president and CEO Blake Flanders said. “With initiatives such as increased student financial aid, a common general education package, and growing opportunities for students to participate in applied learning and internships, our system has made important strides to increase affordability, access and success and begin to reverse a long trend of declining enrollment. We look forward to continuing this work and serving Kansas families and businesses.”
