Cloud County has fifth poitive COVID-19 test

Cloud County currently has five positive COVID-19 cases.
After 24 days without a positive test, the Cloud County Health Department received notice of a fifth positive case on Saturday. The case involved a child under the age of five who had a fever and sore throat for less than 36 hours.
Since being tested, the child has recovered. Any close contacts the child had 48 hours prior to becoming symptomatic are still in quarantine.
The child was tested on May 15, and it took eight days to get the results from a private lab.
Cloud County Health Department administrator Brandi Bray encourages anyone who is tested by a facility outside of the Cloud County Health Center to notify the health department so that instructions on isolation can be given. It also helps the staff keep accurate testing numbers for the county.
Bray reported to the Cloud County board of commissioners during its regular meeting on Tuesday morning that there are nine tests pending in the county.
There have been 147 people tested in the county with 133 negative results and five positive. All five of the positive cases have recovered.
