Con Tech Assists USD 333
The USD 333 Concordia Education Fund would like to recognize Concordia Technologies LLC (Con Tech) as a 2024 Classroom Sponsor. Con Tech has been a long-time supporter of Concordia High School Career and Technical Education (CTE) programs even before the company existed.
Formerly Alstom Power, this company was sold to Arvos in 2011. Arvos moved all operations in 2016, and it officially became Concordia Technologies LLC in 2017. Welding booths at CHS still display the Alstom logo, showing a long standing partnership between the manufacturing plant and Concordia schools.
CHS manufacturing instructor, Dan Hyman, says USD 333 is fortunate to have the support of Con Tech, along with other local industries. Con Tech often donates scrap metal to the CHS program, while providing many other levels of support for welding and other manufacturing courses. The recent addition of a CNC plasma cutter (funded by the Patterson Foundation) will better prepare students for work in regional industries such as Con Tech.
Jay T Reynolds, President of Con Tech, and his wife Kim, spoke of the history of Con Tech with students last week at Senior Interview Day. Telling students they must have grit in the workforce, Jay T says the business went from 25 employees and a non-compete clause with all Arvos clients when Con Tech opened in 2017. Currently, Con Tech has 122 full-time employees and provides approximately $8 million per year in salaries to support our local economy.
“Our USD 333 staff would like to thank our many local industry partners for their continued support throughout the years,” said Kimberly Muff, Director of the Concordia USD 333 Education Fund. “These partnerships not only strengthen the academic and technical skills of students, but also help to build relationships which keep students in the area workforce following high school graduation.” Muff says the Concordia Education Fund will continue to recognize high-level donors as Classroom Sponsors.
USD 333’s Concordia Education Fund, established in October 2022, embraces the school district’s belief that “All students must have access to resources that maximize their potential for post-secondary success, and the belief that education is not an outcome, but a process.” USD 333 staff will continue to seek partnerships that offer our students educational resources and opportunities through grants, gifts, and contributions to the USD 333 Concordia Education Fund.
