Concordia man arrested following fatal accident

An investigation into an accident that resulted in the death of Ian Roubedeaux, 19, Beloit, led to the arrest of a Concordia man on several charges including involuntary manslaughter.
The Cloud County Sheriff's Office executed search warrants on a residence at 221 East Seventh St. and a vehicle involved in the accident.
Following an investigation, Damon Beckman, 19, was arrested and charged with involuntary manslaughter, leaving the scene of an accident involving death, driving under the influence, aggravated endangerment of a child and possession of marijuana. He was transported to the Cloud County Law Enforcement Center.
At about 6:50 a.m. Saturday, the Sheriff's Office received a report that an individual had arrived at Cloud County Health Center with serious injuries and was transported to Salina Regional Health Center.
The investigation into the incident revealed that a 2005 Dodge Ram 2500 pickup driven by Beckman was traveling eastbound in the 600 section of Rock Road when he lost control of the vehicle. The vehicle entered the south ditch, striking an embankment causing Roubedeaux, who was riding in the bed of the vehicle, to be ejected.
The Sheriff's Office was later informed that Roubedeaux had passed away from injuries sustained in the accident.
Three other occupants in the vehicle were checked for minor injuries.
Andrew Knauf, 20, Concordia, was transported by Concordia EMS to Cloud County Health Center. Carson Senner, 19, Concordia, and a 16-year-old juvenile male were checked for minor injuries but not transported.
