Concordia man killed in two-vehicle accident 

A two-vehicle accident in Mitchell County Thursday afternoon resulted in the death of a Concordia man.
Larry Monroe Hicks, 68, was killed in the crash that occurred around noon on K-9 Highway at mile marker 140, approximately 50 feet east of 360th Road.
According to a report from the Kansas Highway Patrol, a 2009 Ford Focus driven by Hicks was traveling westbound on K-9 Highway and a 2019 Kenworth tractor, driven by Adam Lee Badger, 33, Mankato, was traveling eastbound.
The vehicle driven by Hicks went left of center and struck Badger's vehicle.
Badger's vehicle entered the south ditch and overturned onto the driver's side. He had no apparent injuries.
Hick's vehicle came to rest in the westbound ditch, partially in the lane of traffic.
The Highway Patrol reported that Hicks, who was wearing a seatbelt, was killed in the crash.
