Concordia schools receive donation from Trost family

Sherry Trost left behind a legacy to her family through her craftsmanship, and they remember how much care she put into making clothing for special events.
Trost's daughter, Charity Brown, said that her entire wedding party attire was sewn by her mother, including her bridal gown and groomsmen's suits.
Sherry's son Heath proudly displays some of her artwork, including detailed embroidery, needlepoint, and quilts.
The family remembers the many hours she spent making her own clothing, quilts, and other items, but also the time she spent serving as a 4-H leader. Sherry was a mentor to many students during her lifetime, and the family hopes to pass along materials that will help teachers serve as mentors to USD 333 students.
Recently, the Trost family contributed several items that will give Concordia Junior-Senior High School students the opportunity to carry on these skills.
CJSHS recently received a Bernina sewing machine, sewing table and several other materials from the Trost family for use in the fashion apparel & interior design and restaurant & event management Career and Technical Education (CTE) pathways.
Sherry's husband, Randy, said she would want to carry on the traditions she learned from her own home economics classes.
Teachers Janelle Donovan and Leslie Girard would like to thank the Trost family for their generous donation to their classrooms through the USD 333 Concordia Education Fund.
The USD 333 Concordia Education Fund is held at the Community Foundation for Cloud County, a 501(c)(3) organization, and all donations to the Concordia Education Fund are tax deductible.
