Concordia USD 333 to host Community Education Retreat

Concordia Unified School District 333 will host a Community Education Retreat, beginning at 5 p.m. Thursday at the Concordia Middle School, 1001 East Seventh St.
Renovations to the middle school facility are near completion and the fifth- and sixth-grade students will be moving back into the building for the 2023-2024 school year.
There will be a free meal served during the retreat, beginning at 5:15.
There will be an open house at the middle school at 5 p.m. on the day of the retreat.
Superintendent of Schools Quentin Breese and director of the Concordia Education Fund and community relations Kim Muff will welcome those attending the retreat at 5:30 p.m.
A forum for candidates seeking election to the USD 333 board of education is scheduled for 5:45-6:15.
The forum is being hosted by the Concordia High School Student Council.
At 6:15, Muff, district director of operations Kelly Struebing and assistant technology director Trish McDaniel will lead a discussion on boosting community and parent engagement.
Beginning at 6:45 p.m. there will be several different break-out sessions offered lasting 30 minutes each. The sessions and those speaking include:
• Concordia Elementary School academic/social emotional - Concordia Elementary School principal Derek Holmes, Concordia Elementary School assistant principal/director of curriculum and instruction Krystal Breese, and Concordia Elementary School counselor Leah Lowell.
• Concordia Middle School academic/social emotional  - Concordia Middle School principal/director of assessments Curtis Noon and middle school MTSS coordinator/counselor Katie Jackson.
• Concordia Junior-Senior High School academic/social emotional & beyond - CJSHS principal Chad Eshbaugh, CJSHS assistant principal Skyler Hittle; social worker/interventionist Jordan Champlin; dean of student success Kevin Muff.
• Portrait of a successful high school graduate – Eshbaugh and Career and Technology Education director/counselor Baily Echer.
• Long range planning - Tucker Peddicord, Lighthouse Construction.
• USD 333 school bond finance – Breese and Struebing.
There will be closing remarks in the cafeteria at 8:15 by Breese and Kim Muff.
