Forshee retiring as River Valley District director

John Forshee, director of the River Valley Extension District, has announced his retirement effective June 30.
A graduate of Miltonvale High School, Forshee earned a bachelor of science degree in agriculture education from Kansas State University. He worked as an agriculture instructor and FFA advisor at Miltonvale for six years.
Forshee was hired by the K-State Research and Extension Office as an agriculture extension agent in Rooks County in 1989, where he worked for 11 years.
In 2000, Forshee began a nine-year career in the banking industry in Concordia and Clay Center.
Forshee was hired as the director of the River Valley Extension District in 2009. He provided supervision of staff of up to 18 people and provided education in community vitality, 4-H and youth horticulture and farm management.
