Four vying for two spots on city commission

Four candidates will be in the running for two seats on the Concordia city commission in the November 5 general election.
The filing deadline for the election ended at noon on Monday.
Incumbents Sam Sacco and Christy Hasch will be joined on the ballot by Marsha Wentz and Gary Jeardoe.
Sacco filed for a second term on the commission. He was first elected in April 2016.
Hasch is also seeking another term on the commission. She was elected to a first term in 2013 and then re-elected in 2016.
Wentz previously served two three-year terms on the commission from 2010-2016.
Jeardoe is running for a seat on the commission for the first time.
The Cloud County Community College board of trustees will have four candidates on the ballot vying for three seats.
The seats up for election are currently held by Larry Henry, Tom Tuggle and Ellen Anderson.
Each seeking a third term, Anderson and Tuggle have filed for re-election.
Anderson was elected to a first term in 2011 and was re-elected in 2015.
Tuggle also earned a first term in 2011, and won re-election with no opposition in 2015.
Joining the two incumbents on the ballot will be Jim Koch, Clyde, and Richard Hubert, Concordia.
Hubert ran for the board as a write-in candidate in 2017.
The Concordia Unified School District 333 board of education has four seats up for election this fall.
Board chairman Mark Nordell, Concordia, will be seeking a second term on the board after first being elected to District 2, Position 2 seat in 2015.
Tony Miller, Aurora, who holds the District 3, Position 3 seat, is also seeking a second term.
Nordell and Miller are both running unopposed.
Kevin Pounds, Concordia, has filed for re-election to the District 4, member-at-large position. He will be challenged by Nancy Owen, Concordia.
Bryan Bombardier, Concordia, filed for the District 1, Position 1 seat currently held by Steve Wetter.
Wetter did not file for re-election.
