Highway Guardians tour the sights of Concordia

The Highway Guardians motorcycle club came to Concordia over the weekend. The club is composed of female Harley Davidson motorcycle riders from all across the United States.
The club has 291 members nationwide. 31 members of the club arrived in Concordia on Friday afternoon, and were going to spend the weekend touring the sites around town.
"I wanted to show the girls around," said Mona Carver, who co-founded the organization, and rode her motorcycle to Concordia from Goodland, Kansas. "Susie (Haver) and Marian (Condray) from the tourism office are just great and said the town was something we should see, so here we are. There's a lot of places to visit here."
Their first stop in town was at the National Orphan Train Complex.
"This is really cool," said Tammy Mullins, who rode her motorcycle from Lyons. "This town has a lot of history."
Two club members rode their motorcycles from Tulsa, Oklahoma, and two others came from Colorado.
"We try to organize at least one big trip a year," Carver said.
The club was going to visit the POW Camp on Saturday, then stop in at Easy G's for lunch, and spend the rest of the day riding around the area taking in the sights.
