HLC removes sanction of probation for CCCC

The Higher Learning Commission (HLC) has removed the sanction of probation for Cloud County Community College, effective June 22.
“This news is incredible because it validates our commitment to student success and excellence,”  Cloud County Community College (CCCC) president Amber Knoettgen said. “I'm elated that our faculty and staff can celebrate this achievement.”
This action is based on the college's ability to demonstrate that it is in compliance with all HLC requirements.  
The HLC Board based its decision on the fact that CCCC addressed all concerns from the 2020 visit, and all criteria for accreditation are now met.
CCCC had been on probation since June 2021, when it was determined to be out of compliance with an HLC requirement.
“The timing of the previous visit occurred during the height of the pandemic and was conducted remotely, which made it difficult to showcase the good work of the college,” Knoettgen said.  “This news is a representation of the resiliency of the college and a direct result of the relentless work of our Cloud family, who I am so humbled and proud to work alongside.”
CCCC is now on a standard pathway for HLC evaluation, and the next scheduled accreditation visit will be in 2026-27.
The HLC accredits approximately 1,000 colleges and universities in the United States.
A private, nonprofit accrediting agency, the HLC is recognized by the United States Department of Education and the Council for Higher Education Accreditation.
