Library kicks off “All Together Now”

The Frank Carlson Library launched its Summer Reading Program on Thursday with a Kick Off Block Party.

"All Together Now" is the theme for this year's program – bringing the community together and fostering a love of reading and learning.

Organizations represented at the event were DCF, CASA, Kiwanis Club, the Health Department, the Zion Lutheran Church, The Sheriffs Department, and the Resource Center.

The schedule for this summer is: Mondays at 1 p.m. is Teen Activity Hour; on the first and third Mondays of each month at 3:30 p.m. there will be a Lego Builders session; and at 7 p.m. on the fourth Monday of each month there will be a No Name Adult Book Group.

On Wednesdays: at 9 a.m. is Family Splashpad STEM at the Broadway Plaza; at 1 p.m. is 4th-8th Grade Activity Hour; and at 3:30 p.m. is K-5th Grade Activity Hour.

On Thursdays: 10 a.m. is Family Storytime; and from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. is Rotating Park Outreach. Check the library's website and Facebook page for weekly park locations.

Every third Saturday at 10:30 a.m. is Color and Calm: Adult Coloring Group.

All events are free and open to the public and hosted at the Frank Carlson Library unless otherwise indicated.

Also, don't miss renowned local author Lindsay Metcalf's book reading and signing on June 8 at 10 a.m.
