Motherhouse plant sale set

The annual Nazareth Motherhouse Plant Sale is set for 8 a.m.-noon on Saturday — a perfect time to shop before Mother’s Day.
This year’s sale will be outside, and social distancing and the wearing of masks will be requested.
Assistant director of development Ambria Gilliland, along with the Motherhouse organic gardener Lyle Pounds, have been hard at work this winter planning some unique new offerings for this year.
In addition to the fan-favorite hanging baskets, this year will feature an array of amazing succulents in creative settings that will be sure to be a topic of conversation in your garden or on the patio.
Pounds has prepared more than 70 beautiful hanging baskets, but be sure to come early, as they always sell out fast.
There also will be an assortment of hand-crafted home and garden decor to enhance your patios and porches. New this year will be a group of custom-made bird houses.
The sale will be behind the garages on the west side of the Motherhouse, 1300 Washington.
In addition to the plant sale, there will be two different sister-related garage sales going on that morning in Concordia.
The Nazareth Motherhouse garage sale will be from 8 a.m.-noon in the same location as the plant sale, located in the garage bays behind the Motherhouse.
The Manna House of Prayer garage sale and bake sale will be from 7-11 a.m. at Manna House of Prayer, 323 East Fifth St. In addition to the garage sale, Manna House will be holding a bake sale called “Out the Back Door Pies & Other Baked Goods.”
Featured items will include bierocks, pies, biscotti, scones, cookies, sweet breads, yeast breads and dinner rolls.
Enter the Motherhouse sales on the west side driveway. The Manna House sales will be in the driveway and garages behind the building.
