National Weather Service issues a freeze warning

The National Weather Service Office in Topeka has issued a freeze warning for much of Kansas, including Concordia.
The freeze warning will be in effect from 10 p.m. Monday until 10 a.m. Tuesday.
Sub-freezing temperatures, as low as 22 degrees, are expected.
The low temperature of 23 degrees is forecast for Concordia.
A high of 48 is forecast for Tuesday, and temperatures are expected to again drop to 23 degrees on Tuesday night.
Frost and freeze conditions can kill crops and other sensitive vegetation and possibly damage unprotected outdoor plumbing.
It is advised to take steps to protect tender plants from the cold.
To prevent freezing and the possible bursting of outdoor water pipes, they should be wrapped, drained or allowed to drip slowly.
Those with in-ground sprinkler systems should drain them and cover the above ground pipes to protect them from freezing.
Temperatures are expected to warm up later in the week, with a high of 65 degrees forecast on Wednesday.
High temperatures are projected to climb above 80 degrees on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, with lows in the upper 40s to mid 50s.
