Pandemic delays commencement for 63 CHS seniors

Sixty-three Concordia High School seniors would have received diplomas during a commencement exercise in the Concordia Junior-Senior High School gymnasium on Sunday afternoon.
The COVID-19 pandemic brought a halt to the school year of the Class of 2020 when Kansas Governor Laura Kelly issued an order on March 20 that closed all schools for the remainder of the year.
A Continuous Learning Task Force, comprised of 25 members, established guidelines for students to continue the learning process.
Unified School District 333 has scheduled a graduation ceremony for July 26 at 2:30 p.m. in the junior-senior high school gymnasium. It will be contingent upon Kelly's orders.
The Phase Out of Kelly's Ad Astra: A Plan to Reopen Kansas, set to go into effect no earlier than June 29, will lift restrictions for gatherings.
