Police force under scrutiny after raiding newspaper office

Two incidents involving stolen vehicles are under investigation by the Concordia Police Department.
The police department reported it was looking for a suspect, Ric Jacob Meczywor, aka Jake, in connection with stealing a vehicle and the theft from a vehicle.
According to a report from the police department, officers responded to the report of a stolen vehicle in the 100 block of West Sixth Street at 11:27 a.m. on Sunday. A silver 2004 Pontiac Grand Prix with the license plate 808SBZ was taken from that location.
Further investigation led to the identification of Meczywor as a suspect.
As of Monday morning, the suspect and the vehicle had not been located. Charges in the case will be forwarded to the Cloud County Attorney.
At 1:19 p.m. Sunday, officers responded to the 100 block of West Sixth Street for a report of a theft from a vehicle. Officers identified Meczywor as the suspect. Charges will be forwarded to the Cloud County Attorney.
Officers located an abandoned vehicle in the 600 block of East 18th Street at 3 p.m. Sunday. Further investigation led to the discovery that the vehicle had been stolen from Belleville. The incident is under further investigation.
