Public can submit items to be placed in time capsule

Items from the public are currently being accepted for consideration to be placed in the time capsule that will be buried in City Park as part of Concordia's 150th anniversary celebration.
The sesquicentennial celebration will include Celebration Day on August 15 in City Park.
Among the activities planned for Celebration Day will be the unearthing of a time capsule that was buried at the base of the war hero statue during Concordia's centennial celebration in 1971.
A new time capsule will be buried in the park. It will be opened in 2071, and will include 150 items.
The time capsule committee has designated 50 items to be included including letters to future counterparts from community leaders, books, DVDs, pictures, communication devices, information about the COVID-19 pandemic, etc.
The remaining 100 items to be placed in the time capsule will be submitted by community members, businesses, schools and organizations.
Literature, pictures and letters are encouraged.
The time capsule committee will determine which items will be included.
Items can be submitted for consideration through July 15.
Those wishing to submit items to be considered for the time capsule should first fill out the submission form and return it to the Time Capsule Committee, c/o Cloud County Tourism, 130 East Sixth St.
Forms are available at the Cloud County Tourism office, City Hall and on the Tourism Facebook page.
There is a copy of the form on page ???.
Some common sense rules for submitting items include: Choose practical items; question how much each item may be affected by extreme temperatures; do not include liquids or food; avoid gummed labels, anything that can melt, leak or deteriorate because of heat or cold.
