Quilt to be given away as Fall Fest returns

A quilt, created from old t-shirts by Tammy Maher, co-owner of Full of Scrap Quilts, will be given away when the Concordia Fall Fest returns in September.
Fall Fest, for the most part, was cancelled in 2020 because of the COVID-19 pandemic, but will take place this year on September 25 and will include a number of activities including the parade, vendors, car show, activities for the children, entertainment and the all-class reunion.
The Concordia Chamber of Commerce is now accepting applications for the Fall Fest vendors, parade participants, the Fun Run, sponsorships and other activities.
Application forms are available at the Chamber of Commerce office or at the website, www.concordiakansaschamber.com.
In conjunction with Fall Fest this year there will be a ribbon cutting for the Runway 18/36 project at Blosser Municipal Airport and an air show, and the Sesquicentennial celebration beard contest winners will be announced.
The quilt created by Maher will be given away in a drawing that day. Tickets for the drawing can be purchased at the Chamber office from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Monday through Thursday.
Maher was asked by Chamber director Annie Bergmann if she would make a quilt from the Fall Fest t-shirts that had been donated by Barbara Shunn.
The quilt was created using a sunflower pattern.
