Lindsey Roy is Senior Vice President of Strategy & Brand for Hallmark Cards, an iconic brand and company based out of Kansas City, Missouri.  At 31, she was named vice-president at Hallmark, one of the youngest VPs in the 100+ year history of the company.

Eight years post-accident, fully adapted to her circumstances and genuinely thriving, Lindsey confronted the unexpected again: she was diagnosed with a rare and progressive disease that destroyed the blood vessels in her lungs, requiring a double-lung transplant.  This profound setback challenged her to actively shift her viewpoint in order to discover the hidden advantages of her situation and new depths of resilience in herself.

The Gift of Perspective is Lindsey's first book.  Collected in its pages is her story, along with the stories of others who have inspired her along the way.

RSVPs to this year's CloudCorp Luncheon are due on or before Tuesday, January 30th.

Lindsey Roy is an engaging and motivating speaker. By weaving her own experiences with life lessons, she gives audiences insight into why survivors of physical trauma are often happier. By overcoming natural negativity in the mind, listeners learn to release expectations and remain focused on enjoying the present moment.

During her recovery phase from a near fatal accident when she lost her left leg, injured her right one and her arm, Roy experienced an inner transformation. Sharing the lessons that she’s learned, Roy travels to speak with groups about harnessing power from traumatic events to build an extraordinary outcome.

Serving as the youngest Vice President at Hallmark Cards in the company’s history, Roy led teams in a complex corporate structure in various areas, such as merchandising, digital, and innovation. She channels that experience into her speaking career. An advocate for sharing life-changing events, she is a gifted storyteller. Engaging the audience with poignant anecdotes, she inspires listeners to have the courage to break down barriers, achieve dreams, and find appreciation in the smallest things.

It is through the lens of her unique life experience that Roy sees the world. Helping others to understand the power of life-altering experiences to create new opportunities has become one of her life’s missions.

At age 31, Lindsey Roy was named vice-president at Hallmark Cards — one of the youngest in the company’s more-than-100-year history. Her life was abruptly transformed five years later when she was nearly killed in a boating accident. Left with an amputated left leg and severe limb injuries, and facing a long and difficult recovery ahead, she was determined not just to heal, but to emerge stronger. She eventually shared what trauma had taught her about happiness in a TEDx talk that has been viewed nearly 200,000 times.

Now a sought-after speaker, she’s imparting these hard-won lessons to help you adapt, persevere, and innovate in your own life. Brimming with valuable insights forged in the fire — from Lindsey’s journey and from other inspiring individuals she’s met along the way — The Gift of Perspective is ready to meet you where you are, and no matter where adversity may find you.
