USD 333 board approves 2020-21 operating budget

A proposed operating budget for the 2020-21 fiscal year was approved by the Unified School District 333 board of education during a special meeting on Monday.
Following a budget hearing, during which no public comments were made, the board approved the proposed budget requiring an estimated tax rate of 46.750 mills. That is a slight increase from 46.652 mills for 2019-20 and a slight decrease from 46.934 mills for 2018-19.
Total USD taxes levied are estimated at $3,409,637, compared to $3,287,344 in 2019-20.
The general fund tax rate is set by the state at 20 mills.
The supplemental general (LOB) rate for 2020-21 is estimated at 16.138 mills, compared to 15.234 for 2019-20.
The capital outlay tax rate is 8 for 2020-2021, up slightly from 7.928 in 2019-20.
Estimated tax rate for bond and interest is 2.612 mills, compared to 3.400 for 2019-2020.
