CCCC tumbles to 2nd-ranked Scotties

Squaring off against a ranked team for the second time in three days, the Cloud County Community College volleyball team fell in four sets to Highland Community College Wednesday night in Bryant Gymnasium.
Cloud County pushed second-ranked Cowley College to four sets on Monday.
The Thunderbirds then tumbled to ninth-ranked Highland.
Cloud County, now 8-6 overall and 1-3 in the Jayhawk Conference East Division, got out to a 7-4 lead on the Scotties in the first set.
The T-Birds led 14-11 when Highland scored seven straight points to go up 18-14.
Cloud County battled back to tie the set at 22-22.
The Scotties scored the final three points to pick up the 25-22 victory.
Highland rolled to a 25-14 win the second set.
Cloud County made it 2-1 by winning the third set.
The Scotties closed out the 3-1 win by taking the fourth set, 25-15.
Dayana Chara led Cloud County with 10 kills.
Shelby Ohlde finished with nine kills and eight blocks.
Jessica Williams added eight kills.
Laken Schroeder  had 19 assists for the T-Birds and Cammie Miller added 16.
Giovanna Fundaro had 13 digs and Willow Hunt had nine.
