CCCC Culture Committee to host events on social media risks

Renewal options for 2019 health/drug and dental coverage for Cloud County employees was discussed during the board of commissioners regular meeting on Monday.
It was reported to the board that the Blue Cross Blue Shield coverage cost decreased with an average percentage of rate change of 5.1 percent for health/drug and 2.5 percent for dental.
Employees will continue to have three deductible options.
The board approved the renewal of coverage with Blue Cross Blue Shield.
Health Department administrator Brandi Bray reported that the department administered 1,014 flu vaccinations in September and October compared to 830 for the entire year of 2017.
Bray also reported she and/or various staff members had attended the Tuberculosis Conference, Daisy Training and Safe Sleep course.
The board approved a classification change for Amy Sulanka from full-time to part-time Family Planning/EM effective October 15.
Andy Asch, Highway Department administrator, discussed Project No. 15 C-4575-01.
The board approved signing an Agreement for Federal-aid construction engineering inspection services with Campbell & Johnson Engineers, P.A., Concordia.
A real property relief application for the 2017 tax year for Kenton and Geri Bogart for fire damage on March 14, 2017 at 403 East Fifth St., Concordia, was approved by the board.
Henry Eilert, Maintenance Department manager, presented a quote for dirt fill on the south side of the Courthouse to the board.
Eilert said he will get a cost from the Highway Department.
It was reported to the board that sales tax received October 25, 2018 totaled $70,118.03 compared to the prior year of $70,975.48.
The board reviewed the Composition of Cash Balances and Investments report and Fund Status report as of October 31, 2018 totaling $7,578,130.78.
It was reported that the County offices will be closed on November 12 in observance of Veteran's Day and on November 22 and 23 in observance of Thanksgiving.
The Transfer Station and the Recycling Center will also be closed on November 24.
The board of commissioners will canvass the results from the general election on Tuesday at 8 a.m.
The board approved payroll deductions and benefits totaling $60,489.48.
The following payroll expenses totaling $148,843.56 were approved by the board:
General fund, $81,416.79; appraisal, $4,912.63; noxious weed, $511.54; solid waste, $4,487.77; road & bridge, $41,687.79; county health, $14,405.09; and election, $1,421.95.
