VIOLA VANOUS BARKER HEDSTROM

Viola Vanous Barker Hedstrom, daughter of Alfred Havel and Matilda (Klaumann) Havel was born September 23, 1921, at rural Cuba, Kansas, and passed away on July 10, 2019, at Republic County Hospital, Belleville, Kan., at the age of 97.
She graduated from Cuba High School in 1939 and was the valedictorian of her senior class.  She was united in marriage to Raymond E. Vanous on December 17, 1941.   
  She was preceded in death by her parents, Alfred and Matilda Havel; husbands, Raymond Vanous, F. E. Barker; Harold Hedstrom; son, Richard Vanous; stepson, Don Barker; two step-grandsons, Darren Shiflett, Luke Simmons; one brother, Virgil Havel; three sisters, Blanche Stanton, Marjorie Bodin, Marcella Thompson.
  She is survived by one daughter, Linda E. (Larry) Tebow of Courtland, Kan.; seven grandchildren, Ronnie Vanous, Joe Tebow, Philip Vanous, Jessy Tebow, Brent Vanous, Nathan Vanous, Tony Tebow; fourteen great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; two stepsons, George Barker, Lonnie Hedstom; three stepdaughters, Nyla Suffron, Mona Simmons, Marcia Casagranda; step-grandchildren; step-great-grandchildren; one brother, Alfred Havel Jr. of Belleville, Kan.; nieces and nephews; other relatives and many friends.
  Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, July 13, 2019, Central Christian Church, Belleville, Kan.
  Interment will be in Belleville Cemetery, Belleville, Kan.
  Memorials may be given to Viola Vanous Memorial Fund.
  Friends may call on Friday, July 12, 2019, from 1 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Bachelor-Surber Funeral Home, where the family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.
