Panthers capture win in opener, 48-36

BELLEVILE — Pouring in 39 points in the second and third quarters combined, the Concordia eighth grade boys' basketball team downed Republic County 48-36 in its season opener on Thursday.
Concordia trailed Republic County 13-7 after one quarter of play.
The Panthers pumped in 20 points in the second stanza, and allowed just three points, to go up 27-16 at halftime.
Concordia tacked on 19 points in the third period, to 12 points for Republic County, and led 46-28.
Republic County outscored the Panthers 8-2 in the final quarter.
Joey Henderson paced Concordia with 18 points.
Payton Breese added 12 points.
