BOBBY (BOB) C. STRAIT

Bobby (Bob) C. Strait, of Apple Valley, CA. Our Beloved Father and husband to our Mother passed away on Sept. 24, 2019 at home with his beloved family by his side. He was born Aug. 9, 1936 to Charles and Evalyn Earley Strait in Concordia, Kansas. He was married to the love of his life for over 60 years, Betty J. Schille on May 28, 1959 in their hometown of Concordia, Kansas. They raised 3 children together.
He served 30 years in the United States Army and Retired at the rank of Command Sergeant Major. During his service, he was awarded (2) Silver Stars for Gallantry in action, (2) Bronze stars w/v device for Valorous action, Vietnam Cross for Gallantry w/Palm, (2) Purple Hearts for being wounded in action and multiple other awards.
He is survived by his wife Betty J. Strait; 3 children, Donna Strait of Provo, Utah, Steven (Stephanie) Strait of Apple Valley, CA, David (Tanya) Strait of Corona, CA. He was the 10th child of 14 children and leaves behind two sisters in Kansas, Phyllis (Henry) Koster, Patty (Paul) Smith.
Bob also leaves behind 9 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren whom he loved and enjoyed dearly. He is loved by many and will be greatly missed; he has gone home to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ where all of us will see him again.
A funeral mass will be celebrated at Saint Patrick's Roman Catholic Church, 10915 Pigeon Pass Rd., Moreno Valley, CA, at 11:30 a.m. October 15, 2019. Inurnment to follow at 1:15 p.m. at Riverside National Cemetery with full honors.
