Caldonia "Callie" I. Motes

Caldonia "Callie" I. Motes, age 88, entered into rest on October 13, 2022, at the Nicol Home in Glasco, Kansas. She was born in Aurora, Kansas, on February 27, 1934, to Paul and Viola (Mason) Collins.
Callie attended country school in Aurora, Kansas, while growing up.
On March 18, 1953, she married David Motes in Concordia, Kansas. To this union four children were born, Paul, Jerry, Donna, and Sharon.
She worked as a homemaker, taking care of her family.
Callie was a member of American Legion Women’s Aux., and First Christian Church in Logan, Kansas.
She enjoyed playing bingo and going to her church, but most of all, spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Callie is survived by her daughter, Donna Knight, Concordia, Kan.; daughter, Sharon Baker, Mesa, Ariz.; son, Paul (Roberta) Motes, Minden, Neb.; eight grandchildren, David (Nikkie) Leanna of Agra, Kan., Justin Stanford of Omaha, Neb., Brandon (Megan) Stanford of Colorado Springs, Colo., Marshall (Grace) Motes, Colorado Springs, Colo., Natalie (Justin) Peck, Clarksville, Tenn., Daniel (Joan) Hare, Mesa, Ariz., Matt (Lacy) Tate, Concordia, and Megan Tate, Great Bend; 15 great-grandchildren, Callum, Bethany, Austin, Jocelyn, Sutton, Cale, Kennadi, Gavin, Phoenix, Logan, Chloe, Jamison, David, Jonathan, and Emilie; numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
Callie was preceded in death by her husband, David; son, Jerry; parents, Paul and Viola; a grandson, JP Motes;  son-in-law, Max Tate; her four sisters, four brothers.
Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, October 18, 2022, at Chaput-Buoy Funeral Home, Concordia, with Pastor Al Paredes officiating. Burial will follow at the Scottsville Cemetery, Scottsville, Kan.
Visitation will be Monday, October 17, 2022, from 1-8 p.m. with family greeting friends from 6-8 p.m., all at the funeral home. The family suggests memorials to Charity of Choice in care of the funeral home. For online condolences, please visit www.chaputbuoy.com.
