Carl “Bill” W. Forshee, age 94, of Concordia, Kansas, passed away on Thursday, December 29, 2022, at Sunset Nursing Home, Concordia, Kan. He was born on November 30, 1928, in Cloud County, Kan., to Harry E. & Ellen M. (Nichols) Forshee.
Bill attended schools in the local area. He was drafted into the U.S. Army in 1951 and served in Germany. Upon his return in 1953, he began working for KP&L and worked for them until his retirement as the area district supervisor.
Bill was passionate about and enjoyed genealogy, often volunteering his time and talents at the Cloud County Museum. He also loved going to farm, gardening, woodworking and enjoying his extended family.
Bill is survived by his sisters, Norine Koester & Neva Demanett, Concordia and Audrey Elyea, Belleville; sister-in-law, Shirley Forshee, Concordia and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
He was preceded by his parents; brother, Harry L. Forshee; sisters, Marguerite Thorpe, LaVona Merry, Phyllis Larson, Thelma and Marie Forshee.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, January 4, 2023, at Chaput-Buoy Funeral Home, Concordia, with Pastor David Redmond officiating. Military honors will be conducted by American Legion Post #76. Burial will follow at the Bethel Cemetery, Glasco. Visitation will be from 1-8 p.m. with the family greeting friends from 6-7 p.m. on Tuesday, January 3, 2023, at Chaput-Buoy Funeral Home.
